Today’s PetMeds Spotlight is on Home Grooming. Grooming your pet at home can have many benefits in-between taking your dog to a professional, and of course the first is cost. With an average cost of a groomer in the vicinity of $50 to $75, some quality equipment at home and a little training can result in some big savings.

Today’s Pet meds Spotlight is on the flea preventative Advantage. Advantage is a monthly flea preventative for dogs and cats that offers complete flea protection by killing adult fleas, larvae, and their eggs. Advantage also treats, and prevents, lice on dogs. Advantage does not kill ticks, but as with all medications, you should try to use as little as possible to attain the desired results. Depending on your area, ticks may not be an issue. But if a problem with ticks does occur, we recommend using the Preventic Tick Collar along with Advantage.

Today’s PetMeds Spotlight is on off-leash training. When walking a dog where you might encounter other dogs, a leash is the proper way to walk with your dog, but there are occasions that you can have a dog without a leash and not have to worry about them running off. At the beach, in a dog park, running through wooded trails, and many other areas can be greatly enjoyed with both hands when not worrying about your best friend’s leash and them running off after a squirrel or duck and having to chase them down.
