Adoptable pet spotlight: Meet Sir Dell!

Sir Dell is a Mitted (see his cute white paws) Brown Mackerel Tabby. He was fending for himself outside in the country – and somehow he injured his right eye. It looked awful, and hurt so badly. A resident saw this beautiful and friendly cat and knew he needed medical assistance. That was how he arrived at our shelter– the diagnosis from our veterinarian was Corneal Ulcer. After much treatment (including suturing this eye closed for a week, to allow healing) Sir Dell has a clean bill of health, and absolutely loves life indoors.

He does have some clouding in his right eye, and perhaps only sees shadows with that eye – but his left is perfectly fine. Our veterinarian believes he was born about 8/14/12. He is a fully grown boy at 12 lbs. Sir Dell is very friendly and affectionate, is litter box trained, and has perfect house manners. While recovering from his eye injury, he has been busy getting ready for his Forever Home – he is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, & tested negative for Feline Leukemia & FIV. Sir Dell’s very comprehensive adoption fee is $75.

Sir Dell is available for adoption through PALS (Pets A-Lone Sanctuary) in Lincoln County, Missouri. To find out more about Sir Dell, contact the shelter by telephone at 636-338-1818 or by email at

Abby Rosenberg

Abby Rosenberg is a PetMeds employee and long-time cat lover. She was a volunteer for several years at a local no-kill cats only rescue shelter. This has prepared her for her most challenging role to date: secretary, photographer, social coordinator and treat dispenser for Daisy, and Daisy’s sidekick Harley. Daisy is a dilute calico Devon Rex cat, and Harley is a “cow-cat” who was adopted from the shelter where Abby volunteered. You can also find Abby on Google+
