Adoptable Pet Spotlight: Meet Summer

Today’s PetMeds adoptable  pet is Summer. She’s a fun-loving lab mix hoping to find a forever home where she would be the only pet.  Summer is located in south Florida.

Summer is a female lab mix approximately 5-6 years old and weighs 65 pounds.  Summer came to our rescue over a year ago when her daddy came back from the war and was placed in the hospital for quite some time and their family could no longer afford their home and had to move in with family.  Summer was taken to Animal Control and then the owners contacted us and begged us to help her find a home so she would not be put to sleep.

Summer went to her foster home where she was a perfect dog and lived with other dogs with no issues.  She was then adopted and moved in with another family that had a young dog that jumped on her all the time and she would attack the other dog and Summer was returned to us.  Summer was adopted again and was the perfect pet living with a family with no other pets.  The family acquired another dog and once again Summer was returned because she did not get along with this young dog.

Summer is a typical loving lab and loves everyone and even likes going to the dog park and plays with other dogs.  She is food and toy aggressive so we would really like to find Summer a wonderful home where she would be the only pet.  She is extremely smart, housebroken, healthy, up to date on shots and Pet Meds.  If you can open your home to this special angel she would be so grateful.  Please contact JoAnn at 561-313-2005 or or visit us at and send us a message.

Abby Rosenberg is a PetMeds employee and long-time cat lover. She was a volunteer for several years at a local no-kill cats only rescue shelter. This has prepared her for her most challenging role to date: secretary, photographer, social coordinator and treat dispenser for Daisy, and Daisy’s sidekick Harley.
