Alfie’s Adoption Story

Theresa L. shares the story of how she fostered Alfie, but ended up falling in love and giving this cutie a forever home:

Theresa fostered Alfie and ended up adopting him

Alfie was found on a freeway in Austin, Texas by a very nice lady. She already had too many dogs of her own so she turned him over to a rescue group in Austin. I started out by fostering this sweet boy they called Freeway. I fell so in love with his sweet personality and his big loving eyes, I could not part with him so I adopted him and changed his name to Alfie.

Alfie is one of the sweetest, funniest, adorable little guys I have ever met. He is such a little attention getter and loves to dance. Rescuing a pet is the most rewarding feeling ever; not only did I save Alfie but he has brought so much happiness to me and my other dog Sammy’s life.

Thank you for sharing Alfie’s adoption story with us, Theresa!

Abby Rosenberg is a PetMeds employee and long-time cat lover. She was a volunteer for several years at a local no-kill cats only rescue shelter. This has prepared her for her most challenging role to date: secretary, photographer, social coordinator and treat dispenser for Daisy, and Daisy’s sidekick Harley. Daisy is a dilute calico Devon Rex cat, and Harley is a “cow-cat” who was adopted from the shelter where Abby volunteered. You can also find Abby on Google+
