Adoptable Pet Spotlight: Meet Demi
Posted by Abby Rosenberg on January 16, 2013

This week’s PetMeds featured adoptable pet is Demi.  Can you help this gorgeous bloodhound sniff out a forever home of her very own?

Demi is a bloodhound, approximately 6 years old

Demi is a Bloodhound that came to us starving and severely under weight.  She is approximately 6 years old, weighs, 70 lbs, spayed, heart worm negative, up to date on shots and microchipped. She LOVES EVERYONE and is gentle with children,  gets along great with other dogs, loves to go for walks, she is calm and likes to lay around when not playing outside.

Demi was probably used as a hunting dog and most likely stayed outside.  She is crate trained and loves her big comfy bed in the crate.  Not a barker, however, will howl when first left alone.  She really needs room to run, and have kids or other dogs to play with.

Demi came to the animal shelter as a stray. She had wandered up to a pump station at a water treatment plant.  She may have been hunting/tracking and became separated from her owner.  Unfortunately, she did not have a microchip and no one claimed her.

Demi was skin and bones when she arrived at the shelter.  Her hair was dull and missing, had calluses on her elbows, was very shy and withdrawn.  The vet thinks she recently had a litter of pups.  We have been providing her with a lot food, love and attention.  Demi has gained around 10lbs, has a great appetite, is outgoing and loves to be loved.  Her coat is silky and shiny and her cuts are healing. How could anyone resist this face?

Please contact joann@destinyfordogs.com if you are interested in this beautiful angel.

I am very interested in Demi, I have a little one named Kelsey who looks like she could be her sister. Is Demi still up for adoption? I can’t seem to figure out where or whom to contact. Thanks~ Glen
