Adoptable Pet Spotlight: Meet Ray Charles
Posted by Abby Rosenberg on February 27, 2013
Filed under PetMeds Spotlight

This week’s PetMeds featured adoptable pet is Ray Charles, a very special dog looking for someone with lots of love to give.

I am Ray Charles and I need a loving forever home.  I was found running in the middle of a country road at night in a cold sleet storm. Lucky for me, one of Willow Creek Sanctuary’s volunteers was coming down the road from work and stopped to get me.  I do not know why I was there, but they could not find my family.  To make matters worse, I am blind. I went to specialist in Louisville, KY and they could not help me.  I had to have one eye removed because of Glaucoma; the other eye is still there but has a bad cataract that is not operable.  I do have a small amount of vision left in that eye.  After the surgery, I was found to have heart issues too.  Sooooo I really need someone that will help me with my problems and love me for them too….  I will give them so much love back, they will not even care that I have to be medicated or eat special food for the rest of my life.

I love other animals and my people.  I have to be let out to potty very frequently because of my heart medications. My favorite things are going for walks, laying in your lap and sleeping with you. A plus is, I am only around 8 with a lot of personality and love to give and my foster Mom says I am handsome.

If you cannot adopt me, please consider donating to my rescue so that they can have help for my vetting and care.   You can go to willowcreeksanctuary.petfinder.com and donate through their donate button at the top.  I am located in Danville, KY.  Thank you for reading my story and I hope I find my forever home soon.

We just wanted to thank you again for posting Ray Charles as on your Pet Spotlight Page…what a wonderful service to us to reach more people.. WE received around $100 towards his vetting, but sorry to say no offers for a home. But with your help, he got alot more attention than he could have from our sites…….He sends some woofs and slurps and he is doing good.

Thanks from all of us here at Willow Creek Sanctuary

We’re glad Ray Charles got some much-needed donations. We hope he finds the Forever home he deserves soon! Give him a big hug for us.
