Shelter Spotlight: PAWS Animal Rescue – Swartz Creek, Michigan
Posted by PetMeds Pro on October 17, 2011
Filed under PetMeds Spotlight
Marbles is a cat at PAWS who is adoptable PAWS Rescue (Pets Are Worth Saving) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill rescue organization whose roots go back to 1997. They were formerly known as Last Chance Rescue – Flint. They provide care for the animals in the Genesee, Oakland and Livingston County areas of Michigan. As they are not government supported, they operate entirely on donations from fellow animal lovers.

PAWS is a “no-kill” rescue! The main focus of our group is to rescue dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that are going to be euthanized and find them new loving homes.

In a year, they typically take in over 300 dogs and 300 cats, and about 85% of them get adopted! Their animals come from:

  • Abused and neglected homes
  • The county animal control facility
  • Owners who, for whatever reason, can no longer keep their pet

They also have many animals with special needs and animals who have been abandoned.

They are proud to be able to give these sweet animals another chance at a wonderful life full of love and the comforts of home.

Learn more about PAWS or find out how you can donate, volunteer or foster.
