Rescue Spotlight: Luigi’s Rescue

Located in Simi Valley, CA, Luigi’s Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing kittens from high-kill shelters. These kittens are at high risk of being euthanized as most shelters do not have the resources to care for very young or sick kittens. Luigi’s Rescue cares for these helpless kittens until they are able to be adopted into a loving, permanent home. In the last year, this organization has rescued and saved over 140 kittens.

Interested in adopting a kitten? The Luigi’s Rescue website has an online adoption application you can submit. If you are not able to adopt a kitten now, there are other ways to help! Luigi’s Rescue gratefully accepts your tax-deductible monetary donation. For a donation of just $5.00, you can feed a kitten for a week! You can also donate needed supplies such as cat toys, beds, scratching posts, blankets and cages. PetMeds was proud to help support Luigi’s Rescue with a donation of pet supplies.

Abby Rosenberg

Abby Rosenberg is a PetMeds employee and long-time cat lover. She was a volunteer for several years at a local no-kill cats only rescue shelter. This has prepared her for her most challenging role to date: secretary, photographer, social coordinator and treat dispenser for Daisy, and Daisy’s sidekick Harley. Daisy is a dilute calico Devon Rex cat, and Harley is a “cow-cat” who was adopted from the shelter where Abby volunteered. You can also find Abby on Google+
