Lilly’s Rescue Story
Posted by Abby Rosenberg on April 5, 2013
Filed under PetMeds Spotlight

Lilly is 18 years old! Karen V. shares the story of how she adopted her when Lilly was just 6 weeks old, and they’ve been together ever since.

This is a picture of Lilly before she woke up on her 18th birthday in October 2012.  She is now almost 18 1/2!  She is pretty much blind, can’t hear too well and her teeth are giving her trouble but she has a lot of life left in her!

We adopted her from a local pound for my daughter’s 8th birthday in 1994 when she was 6 weeks old.  She was born in the pound and was sleeping in a food dish when we first saw her.  She was so tiny and absolutely adorable!

We moved 4 times and she adapted to every move.  We could not love this little dog any more than we do!  Her needs have become many and we treat her with the utmost respect and so much love!  She’s been the best pet anyone could ask for!

Thank you for sharing Lilly’s adoption story, Karen! Senior pets are treasures, and taking such great care of their special needs as they age is a wonderful way to repay them for their many years of love and loyalty.

We’d love to feature your rescue dog or cat here, too! Just email PetMeds at rescuepet@petmeds.com and share your pet’s adoption story and a photo or two of your own rescue dog or cat.
