This week, Connie shares the rescue story of Wee Bitzee:
Wee Bitzee was born to a neurotic mother who wouldn’t have anything to do with her puppies. The owner had to hold the mother down so the pups could nurse. When the pups started roaming around, the mother got up on a chair and barked at them. Wee Bitzee was purchased at 4 weeks old by a nice lady who had some mental health issues. The puppy was to be her gift to herself after a weight reduction surgery. Oh my. It gets worse. You know how those adorable puppies can be quite a handful, and when what you expected was that this adorable puppy would automatically be your easy-to-housetrain best friend, it can be overwhelming… and it was. Wee Bitzee was banished to the bathroom with her bed and toys and food and water dish…for two years.
By the time I came on the scene, the nice lady was having major health issues and hoarding issues (not animals, just stuff) and it wasn’t too hard to talk her into letting me relieve her of one of the problems. So Bitzee came home with me and got scrubbed up and has turned into a wonderful little pet. We’ve been together 5 years now and we’ve rescued 3 more little sad pooches so she has 2 sisters and a brother. They each have their own pitiful stories, but that’s for another time.
