Adoptable pet spotlight: Carly

Are you looking for a young family dog to adopt this holiday season? Meet Carly! This two-year-old treeing walker coonhound is available for adoption through Dogworks, Inc.

Carly is a medium-sized treeing walker coonhound with a soft tricolored coat, fully grown and about 2 years old. She’s a great example of the work done every day by the volunteers of Dogworks, Inc., a nonprofit sporting dog rescue group located in Toledo, OH. Carly was on her last days at an overcrowded county dog pound, so Dogworks, Inc., took her into rescue in May 2014. She has spent the past several months in a highly experienced foster home, gaining weight and confidence. Her before-and-after photos are really incredible. Now Carly is plump, shiny, and ready for her forever home!

She loves everyone that she meets, human and canine alike. Her foster mom says Carly is the official “greeter” at their house: “Anyone new comes in and she is the first to run up and say, ‘I’ll be your friend!’” There are also cats in the home, and Carly has never shown anything except curiosity about them. Carly has the perfect activity level for a family pet. She has TONS of energy to play—and TONS of cuddling to do when she’s finished playing! As a typical hound, Carly follows her nose and needs a fully fenced yard for security.

She’s spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea prevention. She has also received routine treatment for GI parasites and a veterinary exam. Carly attends regular “Meet & Greets” in Toledo. Dogworks, Inc., can also facilitate individual meetings and out-of-town adoptions for suitable families. Please visit www.dogworksohio.com for adoption application and more information. Help Carly find her forever home for the holidays!
