Adoptable pet spotlight: Luna

Are you looking for a young, playful dog to add to your family? Meet Luna! This young Husky/ German shepherd mix is available for adoption through the Balch Springs Animal Shelter.

Young Luna is an adoptable husky mix!

Luna is a 3 year old Husky/Shepherd mix and is mesmerizing with her different-colored eyes! She can be a bit shy at first but comes around quickly. She was found wandering the streets, searching for food with her five puppies.

She loves toys and scratches behind her ears. We feel that Luna would do best as an inside dog. She has not shown any aggression towards people or other dogs.

Please do your research before adopting any animal. While they are amazingly beautiful, some people find that huskies are not the right fit for their households. Luna does have an amazing howl that some neighbors might not appreciate. Huskies are also known to be escape artists, so a good solid fence is a must for this girl!

Luna is at the Balch Springs Animal Shelter in Balch Springs, Texas. Her adoption fee is $35, and you must have her spayed within 30 days of the adoption and vaccinated for rabies within 10 days of the adoption. If you are interested in adopting Luna, please call the animal shelter at 972-557-6036.

Note: If you’re affiliated with a rescue or shelter and would like PetMeds to feature one of your group’s adoptable pets, please email us at
