Are you looking for a sweet, loving dog to add to your family? Meet Mayberry, a medium-sized three-year-old girl looking for a home through the FernDog Rescue Foundation.

Meet Mayberry, FernDog’s resident Southern gal, as you probably could have guessed from her name! Also known as “MayMay” by her foster family and the FernDog team, she is definitely not lacking in charm. This sweet gal has been patiently waiting for her forever home, having come to FernDog from a high kill shelter in rural Georgia, where she was a volunteer favorite. When the shelter became full, FernDog could not resist stepping in to help. Found as a stray, Mayberry may have once had a family of her own, as she was already spayed.

Mayberry will capture your heart with her stunning good looks and love for all people. Approximately 3 years old, Mayberry weighs in at just over 50 lbs. She has the perfect energy level in that she likes to play, but also loves nothing more than snuggling with people. She would do best in a home with a family who will be patient with her, as she fine tunes her housebreaking (she has an occasional accident) and basic good manners, such as walking on a leash in the presence of other dogs. Mayberry’s wish list includes a family to call her very own, lots of Nylabones, and a large fenced-in backyard where she can run and play. She currently lives with two other dogs in foster, but would prefer to be an only dog. However, she would do fine with other dogs of a similar energy level, after a proper and slow introduction.
