Adoptable pet spotlight: Trent

Are you looking for an adult dog to round out your family? Meet Trent, a five-year-old boxer available through SRL Inc. in Minneapolis, KS.

Hi, I’m Trent, a beautiful Fawn/white male boxer. Before I was rescued by SRL Inc All Breed Dog Rescue in Minneapolis, KS, I was a breeder dog. I had to stay outside in a dog pen with an igloo for shelter. It was really cold in the winter, and I was really afraid when it stormed. I still am afraid of storms and fireworks. I was pretty skinny when I got rescued. I have put on some weight now and eat very well. But I still have that irritable bowel stuff going on so prefer to eat no-grain food. I also take probiotics for it. That really helps. The rescue got me fattened up and has gotten me neutered. So no more baby making for me. I’m good with that! They had me tested for heart worms and that came back negative, thank goodness. I have had a rabies shot and distemper/parvo booster. I also get de-wormed on a regular basis and am micro chipped. The rescue also has started me on heart worm and flea/tick preventative. I am good to go.

Oh, I should tell you that I like teen age kids but the little ones are a bit much for me. I tend to growl at them when they think I am something to crawl on. It is really important that I have a way to go out for the bathroom about every 3-4 hours. I know I’m big and everyone thinks I should be able to go hours and hours without having accident, but I just can’t. I don’t have any infections or anything; I just can’t go much longer than 4 hours without a bathroom break. And, I love being inside. Doggy doors are great! If I don’t get enough food, I have been known to counter surf and eat the food that is on the counter tops. So I’m just telling you, if you don’t want it gone when you get home, put it out of reach from me. The rescue doesn’t leave any food out on the counters so I don’t get into trouble with that here.

I love to go for walks. I am learning how to play with other dogs, but I don’t mind being the only dog in the family. Oh yeah, and cats don’t bother me either.

Here is a picture of me. By the way, I am 5 yrs old.

Thanks for reading my story and I hope we hear from ya. I would really like a place I can call home!
