Adoptable pet spotlight: Sandy

Are you looking for a loving, well-behaved dog to add to your family? Meet Sandy, a 3-year-old mixed breed dog available through Southern Skies Labrador Rescue & Adoption, Inc. in Alabama.

Sandy was found abandoned on the side of the road along with her baby Penny.  Sandy was in very bad shape when she was found, and she was emaciated from lack of food. However, she managed to care for her baby even though she had no one to care for her. Sandy nursed and took good care of her baby in horrible circumstances. Penny, when found, was very healthy thanks to her mom.  After Sandy and her baby were discovered and taken into rescue in Alabama, Sandy was nursed back to health and treated for heart worms and now awaits a loving forever home.  Penny has since been adopted and lives happily in Tennessee.

Sandy deserves her second chance because she is a dog that is beyond amazing.  Sandy is so very well behaved, loving and easy going.  She enjoys human companionship and playing fetch, laying around for naps or getting belly rubs. She is fine with people, kids, and dogs but prefers a home where she can be the only one given lots of attention and love. She is protective of the people she loves and would enjoy being someone’s constant companionship.  She loves to ride in a car, does fine on a leash and rarely barks.  Sandy has been completely vetted and is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped.

Sandy is approx. 3 years old, weighs 56 pounds and is amazingly special.

Sandy is available for adoption through Southern Skies Labrador Rescue & Adoption Inc. If you are interested in adopting Sandy, please visit the website and fill out an adoption application.
