My husband and I decided to adopt a cat. He’s only had barn kitties growing up on the farm, and I had never had one as a pet. We came across two bonded sisters that were born into a local rescue on Petfinder.com. After volunteering with a dog rescue, I know how hard it can be to get bonded pairs adopted, let alone bonded and black since black animals also have a harder time getting adopted. We decided to take the chance and adopted both girls back in January 2014 and now only a few months later they’ve fit into our family and accept our dog like a brother. We couldn’t have lucked out with a better pair.
Thanks for sharing the story of Derek and Nigel’s adoption with us, Jenn! We’re so glad you opened your home to these girls, knowing they would have a hard time getting adopted.
