I saw Penny’s picture on a rescue page that takes pictures weekly of animals available for adoption at a high kill shelter. Of course, I fell in love with this face. She looked so sad. Knowing that she is 15 years old, she probably didn’t stand a chance of getting adopted, especially with all the little kittens available. So I inquired about her, and drove 8 hours from my home in Texas to Tennessee to meet and adopt her. Of course she made the trip back home with me. Penny is the sweetest, most grateful cat. She blended in with my household and tells me how happy she is every day. I don’t know what prompted me to look at those photos that day, but I am so happy I did and blessed to have Penny in my life now.
Thanks for sharing Penny’s adoption story! We’re so glad you wanted to adopt a senior cat and drove that far to bring her home.
