In August 2011, I lost a 16 year old Yorkie I adored. I had 2 other dogs, but I missed having a fluffy little lap dog. In 2013, I started looking on Petfinder.com for a shelter dog. I found just what I was looking for. His name was Moe, and he was a 2 year old Yorkie/Schnauzer mix. He was being treated for heartworms (which is why I think he was given up by his former owners), so I had to wait for 2 months, but it was worth it. I named him Rascal, and it fits him perfectly. He is all of 16 pounds, but he thinks he is a german shepherd. He gets up the faces of the other 2 dogs, sometimes resulting in some “tough love”. He chases squirrels and cats, he licks the other dogs’ food bowls to make sure they didn’t miss anything, and he loves traveling in our RV. Best of all, he wakes me up every morning with puppy kisses!
Thanks for sharing Rascal’s adoption story with us, Deborah! We’re glad you knew he was the dog for your family and that you were willing to wait two months!
