Stella was in a shelter where they do not adopt out pit bulls but are euthanized if a rescue group or other shelter doesn’t agree to take them in. At 8 weeks old, she looked like a pit bull and was not put up for adoption, but instead she waited hopefully for a rescue to go pick her up. My boyfriend and I saw her on the shelter’s website. We had been looking for a sister for our corgi Theo, and we both saw her photo and immediately agreed that she was the one. We contacted another shelter where we both used to work, and they agreed to pick her up so we could adopt her. The pit bull that was going to be euthanized for the way she looked grew into a tiny, loving, lazy bum, who we believe is a pit bull/whippet mix. Stella and Theo get along great, and we couldn’t be happier.
Thanks for sharing Stella’s adoption story with us, Jennifer! We’re so glad you were able to pull Stella from that shelter and give her a forever home.
