Shelter Appreciation Week Contest

PetMeds National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week

National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation Week was founded by the Humane Society of the United States to encourage people to become better acquainted with their local shelters and to learn how they can assist in the lifesaving work. It takes place each year during the first full week of November.

In 2014, 1-800-PetMeds Cares™ began the National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week Contest for U.S. animal shelters and rescues. The winning shelter received a $1,000 credit to 1-800-PetMeds, and the two runners-up received flea prevention to keep their adoptable pets parasite-free. The contest was continued in 2015, with the winner receiving a $1,000 grant to aid in its life-saving work.
