Going to the vet can’t be replaced.

Today’s PetMeds spotlight is on vet visits.  Something is up with your dog, but you don’t want to go to the vet, so what do you do?  You go to Dr. Google, or an online message board or Q&A community and check your karma. Someone is willing to help, someone has seen this before, is there a home-remedy that can help?

No.

When your pet is sick, it can’t tell you what hurts or when.  The vet-patient relationship is important for a number of reasons, most importantly because they speak pet, there are many things that contribute to an accurate diagnoses, sometimes it’s as simple as smelling a pet’s breath, or feeling a gland that may be swollen or an unseen hazard.

Please don’t delay the vet visit when something is wrong, and don’t skip the scheduled visit when something doesn’t appear to be wrong, because you might not catch something that could be cured with early diagnoses.
