It is tempting, if the only tool you have is a hammer, to treat everything as if it were a nail.

Today’s PetMeds spotlight is on dog adoption.  Most pet people have their earliest memories with a pet; their parents had a dog, considered part of the family, no questioning where it came from.  Could it have been an “oops” litter, back yard breeder treating their pet like an ATM, or adoption; by the time someone grows up to question it, the answer is long forgotten.

Today however, there has been a pet explosion due in part to a “Consumer” attitude of disposal that has filled county animal control facilities, and leads to the senseless killing of pets everyday.

Like choosing what you eat, or what you buy based on origin, please consider adoption over purchase, go to your county shelter and see who you can save or who can save you.
