Rescue Spotlight: Boudreaux’s Animal Rescue Krewe

Located in Alexandria, LA, Boudreaux’s Animal Rescue Krewe (BARK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and unwanted dogs from euthanasia. BARK rescues dogs from “Death Row” and gives them the time and care they need to become happy family pets. Since BARK was founded by Eva and Julian Long, the organization has rescued and placed over 3,000 dogs in loving forever homes. With shelters filled to capacity with homeless pets, BARK would also like to spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

The Boudreaux’s Animal Rescue Krewe website has a listing of dogs and cats looking for a forever home, like Pineapple here:

“Hi my name is Pineapple! I am not really sure why everyone here calls me that but it makes me feel special to have my own name….

BARK animal rescued saved me, but at the time I didn’t realize that.  It took a couple of months to get me to calm down and learn how to be a loving cat.  I love people and I love other cats.  I am a bit feisty and like to play as I am still pretty young.”

If you are interested in adopting a pet from BARK, fill out an application.  The adoption fee includes vaccinations, de-worming, and the spay/neuter fee.

How can you help? If you are located in the area, there are many volunteer opportunities such as dog walking, animal care, foster care, and helping with transportation. BARK gratefully accepts your tax-deductible monetary donation.  You can also donate needed supplies such as blankets, towels and dog food. PetMeds was proud to help support BARK with a donation of pet supplies.
