Today’s PetMeds Spotlight is on shaking dogs. There are a few reasons dog shake, excitement, cold, or anxiety, but depending on the size of the dog, it can be a harmless. Most dogs can show that they have control over it, they do it when they beg silently at the table, or when they are waiting to go outside.
Usually it is harmeless, but if you notice your dog not having control over it, meaning they stop shaking when thrown a scrap or let outside, then it would be something you might want to get on video and show to your vet. Recording the incident and the time can be helpful in expressing your concerns to your vet as your pet may not do it on command at the vet’s office, and it could be a result of low blood sugar.
