Located in Gonzales, TX, Gonzales Dog Adoptions is a non-profit organization that runs the municipal dog shelter. This organization is run by volunteers, and happily, they have worked to make the shelter a no-kill facility. They take in approximately 30 or more dogs every month, and are considered an “open-door” facility, meaning that they do not turn away any dogs from the city of Gonzales that are in need. Gonzales Dog Adoptions takes in these stray, abandoned or unwanted dogs and provides medical care such as vaccinations and spay or neuter services, and helps them find loving forever homes.
If you are interested in adoption, you can find a listing of available dogs on the Gonzales Dog Adoptions website. If you see a dog you are interested in, you can contact the shelter to meet the dogs in person. The adoption fee is $80.00, which covers the spay/neuter procedure, heartworm testing, deworming and necessary vaccinations.
How can you help? Gonzales Dog Adoptions gratefully accepts monetary donations, which are tax deductible. You can volunteer to become a foster home for a dog in need of some extra TLC, or volunteer to help at the shelter. You can also donate supplies such as dog food, blankets, carriers, crates, and dog toys. PetMeds was happy to help support Gonzales Dog Adoptions with a donation of pet supplies.
